Indeks Demokrasi Indonesia 2021

Capaian kinerja demokrasi Indonesia tahun 2021 adalah berkategori “sedang” dengan nilai sebesar 78,12. Aspek kebebasan pada IDI 2021, memiliki nilai paling tinggi, yaitu sebesar 79,72 poin. Selanjutnya aspek kesetaraan memiliki nilai sebesar 78,86 poin dan aspek kapasitas lembaga demokrasi sebesar 75,67 poin.

Pada triwulan I-2022, sebagai bentuk penguatan metodologi, pemerintah telah menyelesaikan revisi terhadap komponen pembentuk dan metode penghitungan Indeks Demokrasi Indonesia (IDI). Metode baru dalam penghitungan IDI tidak hanya mengukur demokrasi di bidang politik, tetapi meliputi bidang ekonomi, dan sosial.

IDI metode baru terdiri dari tiga aspek yaitu kebebasan, kesetaraan, dan kapasitas lembaga demokrasi dengan total 22 indikator. Sebagian indikator pada IDI metode baru berbeda dengan IDI metode lama, sehingga angka IDI 2021 tidak dapat dibandingkan dengan angka IDI tahun sebelumnya.

With a score of 78.12, Indonesia's democratic performance in 2021 falls into the "medium" category. With a score of 79.72, the freedom aspect of 2021 has the highest rating. Additionally, democratic institutions score 75.67 points on the capacity aspect and 78.86 points on the equality aspect.

The Indonesian Democracy Index's components and methodology were revised by the government in the first quarter of 2022 as a way to reinforce the methodology. The new method of calculating IDI covers the economic and social spheres in addition to measuring democracy in the political sphere.

The three components of the new IDI methodology—freedom, equality, and the capacity of democratic institutions—each have a total of 22 indicators. The 2021 IDI numbers cannot be compared to the IDI data from the prior year because some of the indicators used in the new IDI method are different from those used in the old IDI method.
