Penghasilan Padi Indonesia Cukup Besar Hingga Swasembada

Di tengah ancaman krisis pangan di tingkat global, pemerintah Indonesia terus berkomitmen meningkatkan produksi nasional dan menjamin ketercukupan pangan di dalam negeri sekaligus memberikan kontribusi bagi kondisi pangan internasional.

Bahkan, belum lama ini, lembaga penelitian beras dunia, International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) memberikan penghargaan Indonesia, sebagai negara yang mampu mencapai swasembada beras. IRRI menilai, Indonesia mencapai swasembada karena mampu memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat lebih dari 20 persen.

Hal ini ditunjukkan dari hasil produksi beras nasional dari tahun 2019 konsisten berada di angka 31,3 juta ton sehingga berdasarkan hitungan BPS jumlah stok akhir di bulan April 2022 tertinggi di angka 10,2 juta ton.

Provinsi Penghasil Padi Tertinggi

Berdasarkan Data BPS Produksi Padi ¹ dan Beras Menurut Provinsi Tahun 2021, Jawa Timur menjadi provinsi penghasil padi terbanyak dari seluruh provinsi di Indonesia.

Jawa Timur, mampu menghasilkan 9,90 juta ton gabah kering giling (GKG) pada 2021. Jumlah ini turun 0,36% dibandingkan tahun lalu yang sebesar 9,94 juta ton GKG.

Di urutan kedua, Jawa Tengah menyusul dengan produksi padi sebesar 9,76 juta ton GKG, meningkat 2,9% dari tahun lalu yang sebesar 9,48 juta ton GKG.

Kemudian, urutan ketiga yang memiliki angka produksi padi tinggi berada di Jawa Barat sebesar 9,35 juta ton GKG. Produksinya meningkat 3,7% dari tahun lalu yang sebesar 9,01 juta ton GKG.
