Indonesiabaik.id - Indonesia kembali terpilih sebagai anggota Dewan International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Region E Asia Australasia periode 2023-2026. Terpilihnya Indonesia sebagai anggota Dewan ITU untuk periode 2023-2026 melanjutkan tren yang telah berlangsung selama 4 dekade sejak tahun 1982.

Agenda Indonesia di ITU

Indonesia menempati peringkat ketiga sebagai negara dengan perolehan suara terbanyak di Region E (Asia dan Australasia), Indonesia memperoleh 157 suara dari total 180 suara sah.

Indonesia akan terus mendorong perumusan kebijakan di bidang digital yang berfokus pada 3 komitmen utama, yakni peningkatan kapasitas, pemberdayaan perempuan, serta konektivitas. Komitmen tersebut sejalan dengan tujuan strategis dari Agenda ITU Connect 2030 yakni Universal Connectivity dan Sustainable Digital Transformation.

Indonesia memiliki Program Prioritas Nasional yang juga sejalan dengan tiga agenda utama ITU. Agenda pertama ITU adalah Connecting the Unconnected. Sementara itu Program Prioritas Nasional Pemerintah Indonesia yang pertama yakni pembangunan infrastruktur teknologi informasi dan komunikasi (TIK).

Sedangkan agenda kedua Women Empowerment selaras dengan keberpihakan Indonesia agar representasi perempuan di sektor digital bisa terwakili, termasuk dalam kepimpinanan ITU.

Terakhir, agenda ketiga yakni Capacity Building yang sejalan dengan Program Prioritas Nasional literasi digital dan digital skills.

Indonesia is Re-elected as a Member of the ITU Council 2023—2026

Indonesiabaik.id - Indonesia has been re-elected as a member of the Council of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Region E Asia Australasia for the period 2023—2026. The appointment of Indonesia to the ITU Council for the years 2023–2026 continues a trend that has existed since 1982 and lasted for four decades.

ITU's Indonesian Agenda

Indonesia received 157 votes out of a total of 180 valid ballots, placing it third as the nation with the most votes in Region E (Asia and Australasia).

Indonesia will continue to support the creation of digital sector policies that prioritize the empowerment of women, connectivity, and capacity building. This commitment supports the Universal Connectivity and Sustainable Digital Transformation strategic goals of the ITU Connect 2030 Agenda.

The three main ITU agendas are also aligned with Indonesia's National Priority Program. Connecting the Unconnected is the ITU's top priority. Meanwhile, the development of information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure is the government of Indonesia's first National Priority Program.

The second agenda for Women's Empowerment, meanwhile, is in line with Indonesia's position so that women can be represented in the digital sector, including in the ITU leadership.

The third agenda is Capacity Building which is in line with the National Priority Program for digital literacy and digital skills.
