Mobil Kepresidenan dari Masa ke Masa

Mobil kepresidenan sudah digunakan dari era Presiden RI pertama, Sukarno.

Pada masanya, jenis mobil yang digunakan yaitu Mobil Buick. Mobil ini merupakan mobil Kepresidenan pertama yang dimiliki pemerintah Indonesia.

Mobil Buick merupakan pabrikan Amerika yang diproduksi pada 1939. Dahulunya, Buick adalah milik Departemen Perhubungan Bangsa Jepang dan pada 1979 Buick dihibahkan Kemensetneg sebagai koleksi Museum Joang 45.

Mobil berikutnya yaitu Mercedes-Benz S Class S280 yang diproduksi 1980. Mobil yang disebut Mercy Barong ini digunakan oleh Presiden Soeharto, Ibu Tien Soeharto, Presiden B. J. Habibie, dan Presiden Abdurrahman Wahid.

Mobil lainnya adalah Mercedes-Benz S Class W126. Mobil dengan keamanan tinggi ini dilengkapi anti peluru (bullet proof), dan dilapisi plat baja pada body bagian dalamnya. Mercedes- Benz S Class W126 merupakan generasi kedua Mercedes yang juga dipakai tiga Presiden RI seperti S Class S280.

Selanjutnya, dua buah unit Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham. Mobil yang diproduksi Amerika pada 1980 ini, memiliki panjang hingga enam meter.

Mobil ini ternyata juga digunakan oleh Presiden B.J. Habibie serta biasa dipakai untuk melayani para Tamu Negara yang berkunjung ke Indonesia dan acara-acara Credential Duta Besar.

Mobil kepresidenan selanjutnya yaitu Mercedes-Benz S Class W140. Pada mobil ini dirancang dengan ban yang menggunakan flat tire (ban mati). Pada masanya, mobil ini digunakan oleh Presiden Abdurrahman Wahid, Presiden Megawati, dan Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).

Masih dari Mercedes-Benz, di 2008 Kemensetneg membeli S600 Guard W221. Mobil bullet proof dengan fitur canggih ini digunakan sebagai mobil kepresidenan era Presiden SBY. Bahkan sampai saat ini, mobil tersebut masih aktif digunakan Presiden Joko Widodo.

The Buick car was created in 1939 by an American automaker. This car was once the property of the Japanese nation’s Ministry of Transportation, and in 1979 the Ministry of State Secretariat gave it to the Joang 45 Museum to be part of its collection.

The Mercedes-Benz S Class S280, which went into production in 1980, is the next presidential car. President Soeharto, Mrs. Tien Suharto, President B. J. Habibie, and President Abdurrahman Wahid all rode in the vehicle, known as the Mercy Barong.
